Maori people arrived from Hawaiki in waka.
They brought crops, seed and animals with them.
They got their food from the sea and the forest.
The Moriori people were not allowed to kill or hurt people.
They found that they had the same DNA and language.
The Moa was hunted into extinction. Also rats ate their eggs.
They mainly settled in the North Island because it was warmer. They also settled on the coast to be near the sea.
Great work Vilar! I am very impressed with these facts about Tangata Whenua. You have been working really hard to recall these facts and write them in sentences so well done.
ReplyDeleteYou could have added that they found that the Maori and Moriori people had the same DNA and language.
It is great that you have added an appropriate picture to your blog too. Keep up the awesome work.
Kia ora Vilar, you have done a great job writing out these facts that are about tangata whenua. You have written the sentences really well and have also included an image as well. I wonder why Māori wanted to live near the coast? perhaps you could have explained more about this.
